Adult Volunteer Program
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at A Woman’s Place. We are grateful for the support of such a generous and committed community.
Adults, 18 and over, are encouraged to submit a volunteer application here, to engage in one of our many volunteer opportunities. As required, by our funders all adult volunteers are required to complete the following to become a CORE volunteer:
- Volunteer Application
- FBI Fingerprinting
- Criminal Background Check
- Child Abuse Background Check
- Mandated Reporter Training (3-hour online course)
- 3 hour in-person CORE training, highlighting Domestic Violence and the services offered by A Woman’s Place
CORE Volunteer opportunities at A Woman’s Place include:
- Administrative tasks: Filing, data entry, etc.
- Pantry Initiative: taking inventory, stocking shelves, processing donations, tidying pantries, etc.
- Working at our thrift store, In Full Swing
- Education: Attending Community Events, participating in awareness campaigns, and public speaking as a community educator
- Development: Event Planning and fundraising
All volunteers interested in working directly with clients at AWP through our 24-hour hotline, shelter support, court accompaniment, cofacilitation of support groups and more are required to attend a 45-hour Direct Service Training, a 5-hour Practicum Experience, in addition to the CORE requirements.
