Our BRAVING program is for current clients only, dates will be shared internally.
BRAVING is an Empowerment Program of AWP that helps participants learn skills to rebuild trust and connection with themselves in order to build trust and connection with others. BRAVING is based on the research and work of Brené Brown, Ph.D., LMSW who studies shame, vulnerability, and empathy to bring greater insight to human connection.
BRAVING is a 9-week program that looks at the components of trust as defined by Brené Brown – Boundaries, Reliability, Accountability, the Vault, Integrity, Nonjudgment, and Generosity. Each week of the program focuses on an element of trust and participants are able to explore what trust means to them both as they build skills around self-trust as well as building healthy relationship skills.
Survivors of domestic violence have cited challenges in the trust after experiencing abuse and this program provides education so that survivors can go on to build thriving and more connected relationships with themselves and others.
“BRAVING grabs you and does not let you go. The information is riveting and thought-provoking. It interrupts your life for nine weeks and if you try to ignore its progressions, it engulfs and interrupts your week in a good way to suggest it is time to grow again and again. BRAVING is just like its name: Dare to create a brand new normal for the next nine weeks.”
