Join members of The Greater Newtown Exchange Club on April 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Newtown Fire Association, 14 Liberty St., Newtown, for “April Showers,” an event to raise awareness of and provide needed items for A Woman’s Place. April is Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Please fill reusable shopping bags with the following needed items to drop off at the event: paper towels and paper napkins, toilet paper and tissues, large-size diapers or pullups sizes 4–6, baby wipes, baby powder, diaper rash cream, sippy cups and paper cups, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, cotton swabs, bobby pins, face and body lotion, sun block, body soap, body wash, hygiene items, disinfectant wipes and household cleaners, laundry detergent pods, dish soap and cleaning sponges, coloring books and crayons, OTC adult/children medications (pain relievers, allergy), or gift cards $10-$25 to Wawa, Wal-Mart, Target, Kohls, CVS, Rite Aid or Walgreens.
